TRX-Works

TRX-Works is focussed on delivering emerging technologies into the deployed environment. We work with carefully selected partners, whose capability and product ranges complement our engineering capability.

With many of these partner companies we act as a UK re-seller, able to offer customers standard product delivered direct, but this is not the primary focus. As with all things TIA, TRX-Works aims to utilise our engineering skills to enhance and integrate partner technology adding value to our customer solutions. Our ex-military team have the ability to provide operational context to the assessment of new technologies and also open the door to a network of relevant specialist users. The technical vision of our engineering team and contextual knowledge of the TRX-Works sales team add value for customers and create opportunities for our partners. These are often brought to market through joint ventures to create bespoke system level solutions or complimentary products. TRX-Works aims to create value add partnerships.

TRX-INSPECTOR

CASE STUDY - BACKGROUND

As a value-adding reseller of the Aurelia Aerospace drone range, our customers often require our engineering support to tailor drone platforms to their specific requirements. This was the case for the TRX-Inspector project, our customer had a requirement to examine structures at height, and using a drone was the perfect solution. The structures required regular inspections, with the information being gathered requiring real time processing and transmission for analysis. TIA’s sales and engineering teams worked with the customer to produce a system specification and the hardware required at the quotation stage.

CASE STUDY - DESIGN PHASE

The Aurelia Aerospace X6 MAX was chosen as the donor drone platform and TIA were tasked to conduct the integration work. A Gremsy Vio, a highly capable gimbal mounted EO/IR camera, and an Intel RealSense Depth camera make up the imaging portion of the payload. These imaging units are then connected to an Nvidia Jetson to process the imaging and flight data in real-time. Our engineers used 3D CAD to mock up the installation of the payloads ensuring the camera’s had the required line of sight whilst maintaining the balance of the platform. Mounting parts were designed and printed in-house to verify the build.

CASE STUDY - PLATFORM DELIVERY

The production units were assembled by the TIA production team and all elements of the platform were tested prior to delivery. The TRX-Inspector is a powerful inspection and information gathering solution, capable of many different tasks. The X6 Max drone is capable of carrying a payload of 5kg for 30-35 mins, so additional payloads could be integrated onto this system or additional batteries could be used to extend flight times. The Realsense depth camera with its combination of a wide field of view and global shutter sensor make it the preferred solution for applications such as robotic navigation and object recognition. The Gremsy Vio is an advanced lightweight EOIR payload, featuring a 4k zoom sensor, a 640x512 radiometric thermal camera and an integrated 2.4km laser rangefinder. Processing all this data in real time using the Nvidia Jetson gives you a tool ready for a variety of industrial or military applications.
